Every applicant must have appeared in UPSSSC PET 2025 and hold a scorecard with a positive normalised score. On top of that, each post needs its own diploma: Junior Engineer and Technical Assistant (Mechanical) posts need a three-year diploma in Mechanical Engineering (or Automobile Engineering / an equivalent recognised discipline), and the post-wise qualification must be held by 25-11-2026. Departments covered include Irrigation and Water Resources, Public Works Department, UPSRTC, Ground Water Department, Panchayati Raj Directorate and Prison Administration.
