UPSC Engineering Services Examination 2024: Reserve List Officially Released
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published the consolidated Reserve List for the Engineering Services Examination (ESE) 2024. This important update follows the declaration of the main results on 22nd November 2024 and provides additional opportunities for candidates aspiring for prestigious engineering roles in government services.
Overview of the UPSC ESE 2024 Reserve List
The Reserve List contains 82 candidates recommended in order of merit across all four engineering disciplines: Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. This is in accordance with Rule 13(iv) and 13(v) of the ESE Rules 2024, which allows UPSC to maintain a waiting list beyond the main recommended candidates.
- Civil Engineering: 42 candidates including General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST categories.
- Mechanical Engineering: 10 candidates across General and OBC categories.
- Electrical Engineering: 6 candidates from various reserved categories.
- Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering: 24 candidates representing multiple categories.

Important Information for Candidates
Candidates included in the reserve list should note the following key points:
- The Reserve List is based on requisitions placed by the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications, which will directly communicate with the recommended candidates for appointment processes.
- Some candidatures are marked as provisional and require document verification. The provisional status is valid for only three months from the date of release. Failure to submit required originals within this time will lead to cancellation.

- The ESE 2024 result including the mark sheets will be available on the official UPSC website within fifteen days of the result announcement.
