The Union Public Service Commission has published the final merit lists for the Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2026, covering the Indian Military Academy, the Indian Naval Academy and the Air Force Academy. A total of 243 places appear across the three academy lists, filled from candidates who cleared both the written test and the Services Selection Board interviews.

The three lists published on 02-11-2026 cover IMA, INA and AFA only. Some candidates appear on more than one list, so the 243 figure counts list places rather than distinct individuals. The Officers Training Academy final result for the same examination is still to come, and it is a separate list.
For the Indian Military Academy, a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university is required. The Naval Academy asks for a degree in engineering. Air Force Academy entry needs a bachelor's degree with Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level, or a degree in engineering. Final-year students could also apply, subject to the conditions in the notification.

Every candidature in the final lists remains provisional for now, because Army Headquarters is still verifying dates of birth and educational qualifications. Individual marks and the cut-off will be uploaded only after the OTA final result is declared.
The Union Public Service Commission runs the Combined Defence Services Examination twice a year for entry into the Indian Military Academy, the Indian Naval Academy, the Air Force Academy and the Officers Training Academy.
