If you have already submitted your UGC NET December 2026 form, tonight is the deadline that matters — not the exam, not the admit card, but the one chance to fix it. The National Testing Agency has opened the correction window for the December 2026 session, and it closes at 11:50 PM on 04-11-2026. After that, NTA will not entertain any request to change particulars, and the form you submitted stands as final.
Two rules make this window narrower than most candidates expect. First, it is a one-time facility: once you submit your corrections, the form freezes. Second, you can change only one of the three name fields — your own name, your father's name, or your mother's name — even though several other fields are also editable.
| Event | Date |
|---|---|
| Correction window opens | 02-11-2026 |

| UGC NET December 2026 CBT | 14-12-2026 to 18-12-2026 and 21-12-2026 |
| Field group | Status |
|---|---|
| Any ONE of these only | Candidate Name OR Father Name OR Mother Name |
| Also editable | Date of Birth, Gender, Category, Sub-category / PwBD (if not verified through UDID), Subject, Examination City |
| Cannot be changed | Mobile Number, E-mail address, Permanent / Present Address, Photograph, Signature |
The correction window is only for candidates who have already submitted the UGC NET December 2026 application form. It is not a fresh application window — no new registrations are accepted in this period, and the exam itself determines eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor appointment, and Ph.D. admission in Indian universities and colleges.
There is no separate correction fee, but if a correction pushes you into a higher fee slab — for example a category or subject change — the difference must be paid online before the deadline. Fees already paid are not refunded when a change lowers the payable amount.
For help, NTA lists the helpline 011-40759000 and the email ugcnet@nta.ac.in.
The National Testing Agency (NTA), under the Ministry of Education, conducts the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) for determining eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor posts, and for admission to Ph.D. programmes.
