Ministry of Fisheries Recruitment: Chief Instructor (Marine Engineering) Announcement

The Ministry of Fisheries is inviting applications for one post of Chief Instructor (Marine Engineering) at the Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (CIFNET) in Cochin. Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Must be an officer of the Central Government, State Government, Union Territories, recognized research institutions, Public Sector Undertakings, universities, or any semi-government, autonomous, or statutory bodies.
• Must have analogous posts on a regular basis in their parent cadre or department, or five years of service in a grade with a Pay Band-3 pay scale of Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400.
• Must possess one of the following educational qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Automobile Engineering from a recognized university with five years of experience in operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of marine engines.
  • Marine Engineering Officer Class I (Motor) Certificate of Competency issued by the Ministry of Shipping, along with a Bachelor degree and requisite experience.

Job Description

The Chief Instructor will be responsible for leading and organizing activities in the Marine Engineering Division, including:

• Management of workshops and technical labs.
• Engineering tasks related to fishing vessels.
• Research in marine engineering subjects and refrigeration.
• Conducting training programs that are theoretical, demonstrative, and practical in nature.
