Join the Indian Air Force as a Medical Assistant: Key Standards and Recruitment Updates

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is inviting applications for the roles of Medical Assistant and Medical Assistant (Pharmacist). This announcement outlines essential standards, training details, and terms of service for aspiring candidates.

Height and Visual Standards

To be eligible for these positions, candidates must meet the following minimum height and visual acuity standards:

• Height: 152 cms
• Maximum Limits of Refractive Error: Not exceeding ±3.50D including Astigmatism
• Visual Acuity: 6/36 (each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye)
• Colour Vision: CP-II

Candidates should bring a latest prescription (not older than one month) and spectacles for corrected vision. The prescription must include diopter measurement, the name, signature, stamp, and registration number of the Ophthalmologist.

Note: Candidates with a history of LASIK/PRK will not be accepted.

Terms and Conditions

The following terms will apply to successful candidates:

1. Tenure & Training: Enrollment is for an initial period of 20 years, extendable to 57 years, contingent on service conditions. Candidates will undergo training at a designated Basic Training Institute and specific skill training post-basic training.
2. Employment: Airmen may be assigned any duty in organizational interest.
3. Pay & Allowances: During training, candidates will receive a stipend of Rs. 14,600/month. Post-training, starting gross emoluments will be Rs. 26,900/month, in addition to allowances.
4. Higher Education: Airmen can pursue higher education upon meeting prescribed skills and performance criteria.
