Indian Institute of Management Calcutta Doctoral (Ph.D.) Programme Admission 2025

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant must have either a First Class Master's or Post Graduate diploma (2 years) in any discipline and a three-year Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks in the aggregate; OR, CA with minimum 50% marks or CS/CMA with minimum 55% marks, with B.Com Degree; OR, B.Tech/4 year's degree with 6.5 CGPA or equivalent. Additionally, applicant must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate in either the Secondary or the Higher Secondary Examination.

Test Scores Required

Applicant is required to have taken the Common Admission Test (CAT) in 2025 OR, depending on chosen specialization, alternative test(s) as specified:

• Economics: GMAT / GRE / GATE in Economics / UGC-NET in Economics.
• Finance & Control: GMAT/GRE.
• Human Resource Management: GMAT / GRE / UGC-JRF in relevant fields.
• Management Information Systems: GMAT / GRE / GATE in any discipline / UGC-JRF in any discipline.
• Marketing: GMAT / GRE / GATE in any discipline / UGC-JRF in any discipline.
• Operations Management: GMAT / GRE / GATE in any discipline / UGC-JRF in Mathematical Sciences.
• Organizational Behaviour: GMAT/GRE/GATE in any discipline / UGC-JRF in relevant fields.
• Public Policy and Management: GRE / GATE in Architecture and Planning / UGC-NET in relevant fields.
• Strategic Management: GMAT / GRE / GATE in any discipline.

Financial Support

The programme offers stipend, student development support, computer grants, support for field research, teaching assistantship, and support to attend international conferences/workshops.

Reservation Policy

Government of India guidelines for reservation are followed during admissions.

How to Apply

A candidate can apply to a maximum of two areas of specialization. SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD applicants are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 3000. Applications will be received from November 04th, 2025 to January 30th, 2026.
