Both posts need a bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university, a good working knowledge of computers, and English typewriting at 40 WPM on computer. The shorthand bar differs: 110 WPM for Senior Personal Assistant and 100 WPM for Personal Assistant. Category-wise, the SPA posts split as UR 43, OBC 32, EWS 14, SC 16 and ST 12, while the PA posts split as OBC 16, EWS 7, SC 5 and ST 5.
