The Defence Institute of High Altitude Research (DIHAR), a pivotal establishment of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO), is inviting applications for various positions. The primary focus of DIHAR is to ensure food, health, and energy security for troops through the advancement of cold and agro-animal products in the Trans Himalaya region. DIHAR is headquartered in Leh, UT of Ladakh, with a base in Chandigarh.

Qualifications Required

For JRF Positions

• 1 post - B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering / Instrumentation Engineering / Electrical Engineering
• 1 post - B. Tech in Agricultural Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering
• 2 posts - M.Sc / M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering / Electronics and Communication / Biophysics / Animal Physiology / Microbiology / Biotech / Industrial Material Science / Environmental Science
• 2 posts - M.Sc / M.Sc in Zoology / Entomology / Plant Pathology / Environmental Science
• 1 post - M.Sc in Horticulture / Agriculture / Environmental Sciences

Essential Qualification: M.Sc / M.V.Sc in relevant subjects with NET qualification or B.E / B.Tech in first division with NET/GATE qualification.

For RA Positions

• 1 post: Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering / Civil Engineering
• 1 post: M.E / M.Tech in Electrical / Electronics
• 1 post: Ph.D in Biophysics / Animal Physiology / Molecular Biochemistry / Veterinary Sciences

Essential Qualification: Ph.D / M.E / M.Tech with at least one research paper in an SCI journal.

Age Limit

• JRF: Upper Age Limit - 28 years
• RA: Upper Age Limit - 35 years

Age relaxation is available for SC, ST & OBC candidates as per GOI orders.

Stipend and Tenure

• JRF: ₹37,000 + HRA per month for an initial period of two years with performance-based extension up to a maximum of five years.
• RA: ₹67,000 + HRA per month for a maximum of two years.
