DBT Biotech Industrial Training Programme (BITP) 2025-26

The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) is inviting applications from bonafide Indian citizens for hands-on training in the biotech industry. This program offers excellent opportunities to biotech/bioinformatics students who have recently completed their education and aspire to start their careers in the industry.

Program Overview

The training lasts for six months, providing students with practical skills and experience by working on real-world projects alongside industry experts. Additionally, this is a chance for companies to identify potential candidates for future positions.

Eligibility Criteria

• Students with B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc./M.Tech./M.Vsc./MBA in Biotechnology/Bioinformatics.
• Completion of degree from an Indian recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks.
• Must have graduated in the years 2022-23, 2023-24 or be enrolled for 2024-25.

Stipend Structure

• DBT will provide a stipend of ₹10,000/- per month for the successful completion of six months of training.
• Participants will also receive a minimum stipend of ₹9,000/- per month from their trainer companies.

Certification

Trainees will undergo an online assessment by the Sector Skill Council. Those who qualify will receive an ‘Apprenticeship Certificate’ under the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF).
