Candidates qualify through either of two routes. The first is 12th pass or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as regular subjects, with at least 60% aggregate marks in PCM. The second is matriculation (10th pass) or equivalent plus a two-year ITI certificate in a related trade — for Radio Operator, trades such as Radio and Television, Electronics Engineering or Computer Operator and Programming Assistant; for Radio Mechanic, trades such as Radio and General Electronics or Computer Operator and Programming Assistant. Remember, this is a provisional key, not the result. BSF will review every objection received inside the window and only then publish the final answer key and the CBT result.

The provisional answer key for the BSF Head Constable RO/RM CBT was released on 04-11-2026. Candidates can view it on the official recruitment portal https://rectt.bsf.gov.in from 04-11-2026, 10:00 AM onwards.
Objections can be submitted online from 04-11-2026, 10:00 AM to 06-11-2026, 11:55 PM. No objection raised after this deadline will be considered.
No objection fee is required to challenge the BSF Head Constable RO/RM answer key. Candidates only need to attach supporting documentary evidence with each objection.

There are 1,121 vacancies in total: 910 posts of Head Constable (Radio Operator) and 211 posts of Head Constable (Radio Mechanic).

The age limit is 18 to 25 years as on 23-09-2025. Relaxation applies as per government rules: 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
The fee was Rs. 100 for General, OBC and EWS male candidates. SC/ST candidates, ex-servicemen, BSF departmental candidates and all female candidates were exempted.
Selection includes the Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test, followed by the computer-based test of 100 questions for 200 marks, a dictation and paragraph reading test for Radio Operator candidates, document verification and a medical examination.
BSF will examine all objections received by 06-11-2026 and then finalise the answer key. The final answer key and the CBT result will be published on https://rectt.bsf.gov.in afterwards.
