Out of the 350 posts, 45 are reserved for PwBD candidates, including backlog vacancies. Selected engineers may be posted at BEL units such as Bengaluru, Ghaziabad, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai, Panchkula and Kotdwara, or anywhere in India as per requirement.

There are 350 Probationary Engineer posts — 200 in Electronics and 150 in Mechanical.

A B.E. / B.Tech. / four-year B.Sc. Engineering degree in the relevant discipline from an AICTE-approved college — first class for General / OBC (NCL) / EWS, pass class for SC / ST / PwBD. AMIE / AMIETE / GIETE are also accepted.
The maximum age is 25 years for UR / EWS candidates as on 01-10-2026, with relaxation for OBC (NCL), SC / ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen as per rules.
Rs 1,180 for General / EWS / OBC (NCL) candidates. There is no fee for SC / ST / PwBD / Ex-Servicemen candidates.
The pay scale is Rs 40,000 – 3% – Rs 1,40,000 in Grade E-II, with a CTC of about Rs 13 lakh per year.
The computer-based test is tentatively scheduled for 22-12-2026.
